Christmas Project 2021

In previous years we have organised our 'flagship event', a Christmas Day Lunch party for the elderly, lonely and deprived families in Derby.
Due to COVID affecting the nation in 2020 we were unable to host our 'flagship event' and decided to deliver meals plus run a series of competitions instead.
For Christmas 2021 we decided to deliver meals on Christmas Day to families, the elderly and lonely around Derby.

In total, on Christmas Day, we delivered 92 four course meals to 15 families, 4 elderly couples and 16 elderly or lonely individuals with the help of five volunteer drivers and numerous helpers.
We also delivered 12 Boxing Day meals to elderly or lonely individuals.
Each meal was chosen by the guest from our menu
In addition, every guest received a table present and a Christmas cracker, which were kindly donated by Rachel from
Sam's Superheroes

Funding for the meals was received from The Asda Foundation, members of the Unite Union at Rolls Royce Derby and anonymous donators on Facebook and via Just Giving.
We also received support from St Osmund's Church, London Road, Alvaston, Derby, with the donation of the use of their community room to organise the meals and serve our volunteers refreshments.

All in all we made Christmas Day a little more special for lots of people.
In total we spent £1,192.45 on the meals plus we donated £620 to local causes to support their efforts in supplying meals to the elderly and lonely around Derby.
*Meals will need to be re-heated and instructions will be supplied with every meal.
