Christmas Day Meals

This is year we have chosen to deliver traditional Christmas Lunches instead of organising our own Christmas Lunch Party.

We won't bringing our usual fun and games to our guests but we hope to provide as many people as possible with something nice to eat. Our decision has been based on two main factors which are at the bottom of this page.

We currently have a budget to donate 30 four course meals, all of which have already been allocated but we have funding bids pending, which if accepted, will allow us to provide a further 50 meals, free of charge to anyone in or around Derby.
All meals will be delivered by our vetted volunteers between 12noon and 3pm on Christmas Day but will need to re-heated, where applicable, before being eaten. Re-heating instructions will be provided with every meal.

Alternatively you can buy a four course meal, delivered to your chosen address for just £15 per person.

THE FACTORS FOR NOT HOSTING OUR USUAL CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH PARTY
The Lingering Threat of COVID
COVID is still out there and it appears to be growing again. After long thoughts, we took the hard decision not to put any of our guests at risk, espcially, because many of them are elderly and also we don't want to promise a party and then have to cancel it, thus letting our guests down.
Insurance Issues
In previous years, prior to COVID, our Public Liability and Employers Liability Insurance covered us for all aspects of anything that could go wrong at the party. However, again due to COVID, our insurers have advised us that we would probably not be covered for any claims arising from anyone contracting COVID at our party or passing away after contracting COVID at our party. Albeit the latter would be hard to prove our insurers are not willing to take on such risks.
